Digitalising occupational health: how padoa makes the day easier for medical assistants
In April 2024, the French inter-company occupational health service SMIM moved its processes onto padoa. The teams welcomed the change of system throughout, and the medical assistants in particular, whose role has developed in a way that will carry them forward.

The biggest change is that we no longer keep files by hand. We used to pull out and prepare every index card and document for the following week ourselves. The time saved is enormous — work is genuinely more comfortable, and we can rely on the system completely. Anne Tinti, Lead Medical Assistant at SMIM
👉 SUMMARY
Time saved day to day
An easier working day
A positive verdict: satisfaction across the board
Deploying padoa at SMIM
The announcement that SMIM would move to padoa was met with enthusiasm and high expectations of the software. Thanks to padoa's structured project support and training tailored to the service, the teams built confidence quickly and got to know the platform fast. In day-to-day operation, padoa's continuing support has proved a guarantee of dependable service quality.

Despite some initial reservations, we were really looking forward to the change. Those doubts were quickly dispelled by the thorough training and exceptional project support. Today we trust padoa completely. The continuing support is what really marks padoa out. Fast responses from the support team and the product discussions matter enormously to us day to day.
Time saved day to day with padoa
More efficiency in the working day
Using padoa has saved a great deal of time. Central access to every relevant record, across all sites, makes the work considerably easier.
That time saved frees up valuable capacity, so the medical assistants can give more attention to work in the companies themselves and support the clinical team with tasks such as drawing up risk assessments. Acute time pressure and unsuitable software had made that impossible before.

For us that is an enormous step forward, and one we badly needed given the strict quality and audit requirements in occupational health and safety.

We save a lot of time day to day. The tool produces the monitoring certificate, for example, where we used to do that on paper every week.

Better collaboration with occupational physicians
The software has improved communication with the physicians and made administrative work more efficient. That allowed internal tasks to be reorganised more effectively, which has made the day easier for the medical assistants.

Working with the occupational physicians is far smoother, because we have access to fuller data and a better overview. As a result, communication with the member companies and their employees has become noticeably simpler too.
A clear view of daily tasks
Every routine task the medical assistants handle has become noticeably easier, which makes for a more comfortable and less stressful working environment:
Looking after and receiving employees on site runs more smoothly.
Scheduling is complete, clearly structured and matched precisely to what is needed.
The invitation function saves time, gives medium-term planning certainty and makes it possible to re-prioritise appointments.
Connected interfaces and medical devices — the direct link to the audiogram, for instance — also make daily work easier.

Measurement results from examinations are transferred into the digital record automatically, which is extremely practical. We can see long-term benefits in the invitation function. We know the system is reliable.
A positive verdict: an easier day for medical assistants
Whether from the operational team, the member companies or employees, the response to the new system is uniformly positive. The internal teams have made padoa part of their working day entirely, employees say they are very satisfied with their dedicated employee portal, and employers praise how intuitive the platform is to use.
The move to padoa has therefore made both administrative and clinical management easier, saving considerable time and improving the quality of service.

We now have a digital infrastructure fit for the present, and we no longer feel we are lagging behind technologically.

We finally feel we are working with a 2024 tool to solve 2024 problems.
